DRI Uganda is currently working with 2800 women belonging to 140 village savings and loans associations (VSLAs).
42% are young mothers aged between 17 to 24 years. These young mothers are active group members and hold leadership positions in their groups. They mostly hold the secretary and money counter positions since most of them have some basic numeracy and writing skills.
DRI Uganda is proud to have the young women actively participating in group activities together with their children. To the children it is a good gesture to see their mothers do whatever they are doing. It is an inspiration to the young generation our future.
